Testimony: Why I did it?
Hey, my name is Daniel Pyke.
I first heard of NET when a few of my friends served for a year with the ministry. From the outside it looked really interesting and rewarding. I thought about applying but I didn´t because I was afraid I didn’t have the skills that they required. I was not great at public speaking and was not confident in front of people. However I desired to make a difference in people’s lives and shortly after when I was on a leadership retreat I felt Jesus challenging me to step out of my comfort zone and apply.
This led me to serve with NET for two years and then three years on NET Staff. I had an awesome time, telling young people about the saving power of Jesus Christ as well as growing as an individual.
I'm now studying Business at QUT and helping out the NET's Freedom University team there.

Hello!! My name is Laura Otto and I am one of the recruiting officers for NET Ministries Australia.
The reason I served with NET is because NET so greatly impacted my life, and I wanted to give back and do the same for others. I remember the very first time I heard about NET, I thought there was no way I would ever want to give up a whole year of my life to do ‘church stuff’. That was just a bit too full on for me. But then I actually ‘experienced’ NET when a team did a retreat for my parish, and I understood. They seemed to have something that I wanted, and I felt so loved by the team – running to greet me when I walked in and constantly caring for me and actually seeming interested in what I had to say. One night of the retreat they did a drama and I realised that this was how Jesus loved me! It gave me such hope and joy - hope and joy that I had to share with others!
Since then I had a great desire to do something more with my faith and I planned on doing one year of NET as soon as I could – straight out of high school.
Two NET years later, I am now on Staff and cannot even begin to explain the impact the Jesus has had on my life through NET. I have grown in massive ways, been challenged and yet had so much joy and hope infused into my life, like never before.
If you think that maybe you want to be challenged, to grow, to learn, to have experiences like nothing else can offer, to be used by God as an instrument in life changing work and to share what you have experienced through Jesus in your own life, then NET IS FOR YOU!!!
