Our fundraising dinner was a great success. It was night of great food, wonderful speakers, and most importantly a night where the vision of NET and the truth that young people need was shared. We had the great pleasure of being hosted by Archbishop Mark Coleridge and his continued support is greatly appreciated and valued.
NET’s history has stretched over 27 years and has grown so many dedicated modern day apostles. Two of those were able to join us and share their experience of NET and what they have gone on to do with lives. Fr Michael Gallacher (Canon Lawyer) and Sr Anastasia (Dominican Sister of St Cecilia). These two shared powerfully on their experience of being called to serve with NET, how this experience transformed their life and then going out and continuing the work that God had called them to do.
The night is aimed at raising money to be able to continue the great work that NET undertakes. There was a particular call placed out to donate funds so that NET can continue to push on in its new mission field of university teams. This year NET sent out two new Freedom Launch Teams. One to the University of Queensland (Brisbane) and the other to Mannix College (Melbourne). These teams aim to encounter university students, an extremely difficult group of people to engage at times, and invite them to a deeper engagement with their faith. The ministry model of these teams looks different than NET teams whose primary context is high schools and has a greater focus on intellectual engagement with the faith and how to live it in a relevant way in their daily life.
